en plein air

we tidied, swept, wiped and hoovered our holiday cottage and then went to a cafe in Brodick to wait for the ferry. It never came. Although the weather in Brodick was wet, it wasn't windy, but the staff at the ferry terminal said that it was blowing a strong southerly at Ardrossan so there would be no more sailings until tomorrow.

We booked into the Corrie Hotel (dog friendly!) and went out for a walk up Glen Sannox. The wind did get up, though you can't see it in this photo. D has a little pot of graphite which he uses to paint with his fingers for a quick sketch 'on the go'.(see extra).  Soon after this, the heavens opened and we walked back to the car. The hotel staff didn't seem at all bothered by our dripping state.

We have had dinner in the bar (courtesy of CalMac) and will be departing again for Brodick in the morning after an early breakfast. I just took Jess outside and its wild out there...
