The Cramond Fish

I've never been to Cramond before but today I hopped on a number 41 bus et voilà!

Sadly the tide was on it's way in when I arrived, making a crossing to the island inadvisable (about 100 people a year have to be rescued by the RNLI apparently). I'll be back another time to do that.

Meanwhile, I explored the site where humans lived 10,000 years ago and roasted hazelnuts, and the site where soldiers in the army of Septimus Severus had their camp. The parish church is built on top of the Roman ruins. The fish was carved by Ronald Rae and bought by the local community.

Back on Princes St, my planned trip to Waterstones was prevented by police tape. (Suspicious package delivery). I went to Gregg's instead for my first vegan sausage roll..veerry nice! Then a visit to the BP portrait award exhibition before it closes this weekend.

Time for my train now..and tonight we will be at the Theatre Royal for the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers.

Work will be a rest tomorrow!
