Across the fields

3.3C with a morning of dark skies and snow. Afternoon brightening and snow melting quickly.

Through the morning we had long spells of snow drifting slowly down in the very light breeze. As it approached the time when I usually take Maeve the Deerhound for a walk it looked like the snow would stop for a while so we got ready quickly and set off down the road to the shore. The clouds were just beginning to break and some blue patches were visible. Out to sea the clouds were very dark. On the way down the road to the shore we stopped by a gap in the hawthorn hedge and I got this shot looking over to the field with the bridle path. If you go large you might see the bales and the trailers.

Down at the beach the tide was quite far out. The sea has become much calmer. Only small waves were rolling in over the rocks and into the channel. At the Fishermen's huts there was barely a sprinkling of snow left. Nobody around at the huts but the big black pickup which belongs to the owner of 'Valhalla VI' was parked by the end hut.

By the time we had walked back round out usual route home the snow had gone from the pavements. Just some left on the lawns.

When we got home I dried Maeve's feet with one of her towels. Don't want cold or salty paws. Quick brush too.
