"Snow is melting"

Looking out over North Road, the bowling green is deserted, not a common sight, the bowlers are keen no matter what the weather. Next to it the new Glossop Cricket Building, beautiful inside but to view it's modern and not much character. The old red brick club house was far easier on the eye, I miss it. In the distance Ladybower Court where our girls and their kids played for hours, costing nothing but a football, tennis ball and even a frisbee. That was in the days before x box, playstation, and pcs !!!

To the right the famous Ferro Alloys chimney long redundant along with the factory which is now flattened, it stands high as one of the landmarks you can see from probably every part of Glossop. I wonder if it will remain forever or eventually be dismantled ?? A few will celebrate its demise but many may miss the famous chimney that signalled you were almost home
