Looking through the grasses

Just to show that we did have a brief spell of blue sky this morning .... fortunately at the time when I was taking the dogs round the block.

This view of the tenements was taken over the hedge round the bowling green and through the grasses which are looking rather puny at the moment. Despite the recent high winds and heavy rain the grass stems are still standing tall.

Thoughts are with all down south who are living with the threat of flooding .... so many flood alerts still on the news and weather forecasts. All the ground up here is saturated and in fields and parkland there are plenty of newly formed lakes ...... when will the downpours cease?
