Reincarnation

I hate Mondays. I don't have the words to express how much I hate Mondays. I spent much of today quietly seething and cursing the fact that it was Monday and wishing it was Friday. Lunchtime didn't help much, as it was dull and a bit cold and a bit wet, reflecting my mood rather than lifting it. I wasn't in a blipping frame of mind. So I caught this on the way home.

I blipped this shop a while ago. Back then it was a dead shop. Now, before our very eyes, it is being reincarnated as a Sony Centre. Not a terribly clever idea in the current economic climate, I would have thought, to open a city centre retail outlet for high end electronic consumer goods. Perhaps they committed to the lease before the economy fell apart. Perhaps they didn't, but got the lease cheaply because nobody else wanted it. I don't know.

What I do know is that in the not too distant future I shall be able to pop down to the Sony Centre one lunchtime, buy a nice flat screen TV which I can't afford, then wander along to Jessops and buy a D700 which I can't afford, then cross the road and visit the bank to get my arse kicked for spending lots of money which neither I nor they have. And I'll still make it back to the office by 2.
