Early Morning Ice Fishing

Not long after sunrise, sunlight streamed through trees leaden with snow from yesterday's storm. A man shows his kids how to make a hole in the lake ice using an auger. Why they are out ice fishing and not at school on a Monday morning I don't understand, but shortly after hordes join them.

I went out later in the day and found the setting sun backlighting some trees in the shade that were still covered in snow (see extra).
