Castle Espie

Another visit to Castle Espie today. The wildfowl are becoming very busy! In the main building there was a wonderful exhibition of Ikebana. I have never heard of this art form before. Translated from Japanese it means 'giving life to flowers'. I couldn't get a photo which did the exhibits justice. It is a combination of arranging flowers and natural materials and to quote the background information 'it is steeped in the philosophy of developing closeness with nature'. Truly wonderful exhibition! There are a couple of societies in Belfast promoting the art.. It was a lovely day!
