Dead Tree

Well, when you reflect on it, while the actual tree is dead, it is teeming with life. Ivy, bugs, birds, nests (or will be soon), and all manner of activity. I like them in winter especially, as the ‘hangers-on’ don’t mask its shape as much. Extra pic is related to an update on the wood-cutting happening (see earlier blip). Three years ago, the wood on the right was cut down for wood pellets in the same way as the wood a few hundred metres away is being cut. This shows the difference between the uncut and the cut. Three years on and there are some signs of regrowth, but the paths, spaces and access for wildlife has changed completely. Talking to a couple of locals, they aren’t too happy, but simply give a gallic shrug of the shoulders. ‘C’est la vie’
