One will do

Note
I needed to change the photo a couple of days after posting so text doesn't fit photo. Sorry for any confusion! The new photo was taken in response to someone suggesting normal people had moved on from buying DVDs & only used inductive mobile phone chargers. As he was an expert I asked him if he could help me plug in the additional RAM I had bought as I didn't recognise the type of plug!

Son in law, from Ireland, has just spent three days in German with around 39 other Irish & British head greenkeepers at the expense of John Deere.

I have yet to get all the detail but apparently wonderfully organised from breakfast at Dublin Airport through to the hotel in the lovely city of Heidelberg and all the bus trips to the various plants in the Mannheim area, always with ample beer supplied.

The weather was superb, they were though subject to a typical strict German regime ... Breakfast 7:00 am, Bus 7:30, Work 8:00. Trips included a visit to the huge technical museum at Sinsheim. No mention was made of what they did in the evenings.

John Deere bought one of the leading German tractor manufacturers, Lanz of Mannheim, in 1956 and made this their European HQ. My own 1965 John Deere-Lanz was one of the last models to be produced under that name before the Lanz part was dropped in 1967.
