Snoooooow

Up early again, today we were due to visit Auntie Joan. Bitterly cold (a damp -3C) so we took ALL the outdoor gear in the car so we could choose what we needed when we got there. Glad I checked the map first but memory managed to get me most of the way to her house in Marple!

The Bear provided his usual Mobile Risk Assessment service and after investigating everything, a lot of stuff was moved out of reach. He also had his first experience of snow as there was still a little snow in her garden. And even after stuffing themselves with biscuits they both actually ate pizza for lunch, then we wrapped up as best we could and went out for a walk to feed the ducks up by the canal. Big friendly ducks, very happy to see a child approaching (I imagine all children who visit them have food!). F-f-f-f-f-freeeeezing though. Bean had his jogging pants on, and ski pants over the top; Bear was togged up and in the wrap under my coat but it was still soooo cold. Glad to get back for a warm! Stayed until it was dark and then headed for home.

Dinner was risotto and was extraordinarily delicious - given it was a sprout and bacon risotto that's quite something! I thought Bear would pop after everything he ate, a huge helping of risotto followed by a huge bowl of icecream; and even the Bean declared it was yummy although he wouldn't eat a rogue sprout leaf that hadn't been chopped up. He fell at the last hurdle with a piece of bacon that he just couldn't swallow.

Then it was bedtime, and time to wait for Daddy to arrive!!
