A bright start

A beautiful sunrise for the first day of the new year.

The gales continue and travel plans are disrupted. A considerable amount of looking at timetables and routes is going on. With Friday's ferry to Orkney cancelled and the next boat not until Wednesday, I could be very late back to work....

Today has become the last day with the family for this visit. Monopoly, pool and a new animal quiz board game are played furiously. Over tea we wonder at the many new, amazing facts about the animal kingdom we have learnt today. I fear not all of us will remember them....
