One last brew before the end of the year

A friend brought a lovely bottle of wine with mulling spices attached in a muslin and a method to brew... unfortunately the message not to tip the spices in but instead to keep them in the bag did not get through to the brewer..it was already too late... we strained it but the concoction left me with a numb tongue (I think it was an overdose of clove which would have been brilliant if we had infact had toothache) .. all in all it was undrinkable... back to the water.. ah well!!! It was a lovely gift and we ruined it.  Shame really... better eat another mince pie so that we can start the new year without too many temptations!
