Sydney Opera House
Today was a grey and stormy looking day but it never actually rained or got too cold. It mostly just ended up being kind of crap weather to photograph anything in and not a very nice day to wander around in the city, but I did anyways! I started off at a café on Foveaux Street, which was awesome, so I ended up getting takeaway lunch from there too. Then I wandered off to Hyde Park and up towards Mrs. Macquerie's Chair. It was a nice walk along the water and eventually led me to a little peninsula where there's an amazing view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Honestly, the Opera House was underwhelming. It's kind of a dirty off-white colour, not the sparkling, pristine looking beauty that you see in postcards. And once I got up close to it I realized it was tiled in white and cream tiles, which I didn't know! I just assumed that it was some sort of panelling. I really like the Harbour Bridge though. I wish I had the chance to walk across it while I was in Sydney but I didn't have the time or the weather to do that. I wandered around in the Botanical Gardens some more while I was in the area and they are beautiful. I could have posted 100 photos of all the flowers I saw there. Probably one of my favourite things in Sydney!
