I started the day with a visit to The Rocks, where the English first landed and began colonizing Sydney. I found a fantastic café there to start my day with a great coffee and breakfast. My vacationing generally revolves around eating my way around a city :) The café was right across the street from the Rocks Museum, which was free, so I thought I'd have a peek inside to learn some more about the area. Generally, pretty interesting but I wasn't in the mood to read 150 plaques talking about everything in minute detail so I'm sure I didn't take in all that it had to offer. Next, I went to the Museum of Contemporary Art and had a wander around there. Some interesting stuff in there and some really strange stuff, but that's what you get with modern art I suppose! This photo is taken in front on the museum, where there's a giant parabola out front reflecting the sky on one side and the sidewalk/front of the museum on the other. I'm sure that the other side is meant to be the focal point but I like this side better. You can see my tiny reflection right in the centre there.
After all of my museum wandering we went back home and then off to Coogee Beach. It's a really nice beach and we enjoyed cooling off in the ocean and then fish & chips for dinner!
