Kingfisher

I took time out today to walk along the river in the hope of spotting a kingfisher. I had to wait in floodwater (in wellies) for a while but my patience was rewarded! The weather was overcast, so not the greatest for sharp images - I have one in flight and a few others with him eating a fish but they are too grainy to publish. I have included one slightly unusual one as an extra - I call it 'Cough It Up!' And there's another extra of a little egret in a tree - I always find it fascinating to see these birds high up in a tree - I tend to only think of them as wading in water.

Sorry I'm so bad at calling in on your journals at the moment - most of my time is filled at the moment and, when I have a little undesignated time, I choose to go out with my camera......
