Northwards!

Backblip
unfortunately there was not space for us to stay on the site another night, so decisions had to be made.  Where next?  Carry on westwards or south? Wales? Firstly though we both made use of the on site showers and I did a load of laundry!

Everything and everyone nice and clean and refreshed, we headed for Cumbria.  We called in at Watershed Mill, but sadly there is no mill to explore.  What there is is a wonderful quilt shop, full of bolts of tweed and cottons in a huge range of colours.  It was very tempting, but I don't think I need another hobby to spend money on!

A fair bit of rain en route, but stunning scenery and slate buildings, wonderful drystane walls, sheep, little stone sheds in the fields and terrific views.  Nipped into Kendall where I bought some new walking boots.  Very pleased with them.  I have been trying to buy some on line, but it's just about impossible to find ones that are comfortable and fit properly.

We used Google maps to get us to our destination.  Unfortunately the dear woman tried to take us the quickest route - up over Wrynose and Hardknott Pass!!  A 1:3 gradient is not for the likes of us, thanks!  We did a long detour but ended up where we wanted to be - Ravenglass.  Ah, joy!  So good to be back!
