Closer to home
After a couple of days of exploring further afield, Shelagh and I took Lando and Ollie to Sandwick this morning, just a couple of miles away. The burn was pouring down the beach, leaving little islands of sand. Billy was there, with his two grandsons, picking up plastic and childminding as they dug and drew in the sand. We adults were freezing, but the boys in their waterproofs and wellies, were nearly up to their elbows in the wet sand! The dogs had a good wander on the beach, both of them ended in the water and covered in sand, and came home tired and happy.
I spent the afternoon working with H, while Shelagh went to see a friend in town. We worked like Trojans, cleaning out stables and putting down rubber mats for the ponies to lie on. I could feel all my muscles by the time we had done! Managed to have time to ride afterwards, my first time jumping Jasmine bareback. She's really settling down and H is glad she kept her, after a difficult start. So am I!
