Gardens closed ... for Christmas?

Edinburgh’s Christmas city seems bigger than ever judging by the size of these scaffolding foundations. Now we know the real reason all those mature trees were felled. Today would have been warm enough to sit in the gardens but they are closed. The benches piled up in a heap. How do we claim a rebate on our Council Tax?!
