Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo)
We had business in Workington so the morning found us heading that way. After our appointment being so near Clickychick's home town we headed for Whitehaven. We had a leisurely lunch and then set off to wander round the docks.
Every time we visit the dock I remember how it was when I was young. Steam trains running along the dock side and pedestrians walking over the lines, dirt and decay. Now the area is very tidy and clean, the railways are gone and the docks full of pleasure boats not commercial traffic.
Today many things caught my eye from the many leisure boats, the "sculptures" and the birds. The Cormorant complaining when the gulls came near won the day as the blip. The boat in extra very nearly ousted the Cormorant, it is clearly designed for some serious rowing, other than that I know nothing about it.
