Centaurea Amethyst Dream
Our regular trip up to Dobbies garden centre, taking Kanyl with us. After our pleasing result with regard to photography in Edinburgh I took the camera in as usual.
One of the reasons for visiting regularly is so that we can see what is in flower for that time of year to help in deciding things for the Lodge. One flower which caught my eye was this Centaurea.
It always surprises me that these plants belong to the same genus as the Knapweed we see growing in roadsides etc. On the other hand there are between 350 & 600 species in the genus so it is hardly surprising some of them have been developed into garden plants.
