Boats on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal

Wanting to have a walk along the Staffs & worcs canal before leaving we were up and about early.  FIne weather and a bit of weak sun in the "golden hour.  Unfortunately we didn't see any Kingfishers which is what we were really hoping for.  After the walk Clickychick visited the farm shop while filled the car up ready for the return journey.

Soon after 10:00 we were hitched up and heading for the M6.  The traffic was heavy and so was the rain!  We decided to have lunch at the Charnock Richard services.  (Rant warning)  Why is it that car and van drivers can't read 1 m high (3ft) white letters saying "Caravans Only".  This time we were fortunate and there was a space on the caravan park, frequently the space set aside is full of parked cars and "white vanman". (Rant over).

The rest of the journey was uneventful and comparatively easy as the traffic thins out as you go north.  So we were home late afternoon.
