snow survivor

The snow we got yesterday evaporated in the sun today. But most things still in bloom are done for by the hard frost. So I was surprised to see this little splash of color in the midst of a mostly brown garden. I think it must be an alpine variety of some sort, because it is very small and low to the ground and must have been protected underneath the higher growth.
