Diary of an Edinburgher

Harrogate Day Two

Well, that was a good start to the day - a convincing Scotland win over Russia! After that, we went in to Harrogate (we're just on the outskirts, right by a train station).

And what a lovely town it is too. Very clean and tidy. We've been there before, many years ago, and visited Betty's Tea Room then, so we didn’t need rush there today. After a stroll to the station, and a five minute train ride, we popped into the first cafe we found to have a coffee and croissant. Of course, then we didn’t feel like having another scone...

We had a successful day. It was showery and sunny, but by timing the cafe/shop visits, we stayed dry. But not too many photo opportunities...

JR loved the selection of shops, many we don’t have in Edinburgh, but she was delighted to learn that one of her favourites is opening up next month. I loved this 'emporium', with the glittery 'fork handles' (a 'Two Ronnies' classic sketch).

Tomorrow we'll go for a wee drive. No more shops.
