Sally Mair - Loving life

Nerine

Every year the beauty of this nerine takes me by surprise. It's such a strong plant and somehow I don't associate pink flowers with this time of year. It was in full bloom when we came back from Bulgaria last week and it's still looking strong.
I had hoped for a quiet day today after my trip 'oop North' but that was never going to happen. We took Ali's car down to the garage this morning to see if they could nurse it through another MOT If anybody can this garage can. We had used the same garages for over 30 years when the owner retired about 5 years ago. He was wonderful and we thought we were going to be left high and dry afterwards however the guy who took it on is just as good and does repairs rather than replacement! Yay. Worth hanging into. He says he always turns down AA and RAC offers to list the garage as he has all the work he needs from regular customers and their word of mouth recommendations.
From there I went to Morningside, to Mike's for my Cursillo reunion group then home briefly before our first bridge evening of the season. I felt very rusty not having picked up a card since Easter, but we didn't do too badly coming 3rd out of 6.
