Low balloon

It's not so unusual to see the big, red Virgin hot air balloon 'round here. I see it from the house sometimes, taking off from somewhere down near town, possibly on the Jubilee Fields. But today as I was driving to work along the back road between Kirkby Lonsdale and Oxenholme is saw it off to my right, heading in the same direction as me.

It seemed very low in the sky, to the point where I became quite nervous as it was approaching some power lines. It seemed more likely, though, that it was just a matter of perspective and then it occurred to me that it might make quite a good photo. (It nearly did: see today's extra.)

It appeared to be travelling at roughly the same speed as me so that we would reach the M6 at about the same time. I turned off at the road leading to Bendrigg Lodge and pulled up on the motorway bridge to take today's photo.

It's not just me. That is low, isn't it?
