New running shoes
Well, new-ish. I ordered these a couple of weeks ago and I've already been out in them once. There's something weird with Nike's sizing, though: I'm normally a 10 but I ordered these in an 11 as my last pair were a bit tight. These are still a little snug.
I was delighted with the purchase, though: the shoes were £116 on the Nike website unless you ordered this particular colour and then they were half price. (And for all you "I'm not surprised" naysayers, I rather like this yellow.) Plus, for some reason, there was just over £20 credit on my PayPal account, so these ended costing a little more than thirty quid. Snip!
And after that and I'd taken a shower, I still had time to pop into Kirkby Lonsdale for a haircut at the new Turkish barbers. I first enjoyed this experience about fifteen years ago when I was doing some work for a client in Turkey. It's far more than a haircut and one's eyebrows, ears, and nose are all attended to. The ears are particularly fun as they dip some cotton wool into meths (I guess) and light it before wafting the flame into your ear to singe away all the hair.
Thus I arrived in time for my meeting feeling well-exercised and groomed. And hungry enough for The Royal's Ploughman's lunch (would recommend!)
