Dragged Up

It’s Freshers Week at Liverpool’s various seats of learning, and the city is, once again, suddenly full of students. Approximately a quarter of the local populace consists of students at the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool Hope University and Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts - which certainly gives the city a youthful vibe! Even the mature students are super-hip!

At work we’re attending all the Freshers’ Fairs this week, with stalls aimed at getting the new students registered with GPs and dentists. We’ve also been handing out information about mental health and sexual health support services, and advising students to get vaccinated against meningitis.

I spent most of today at LIPA (in the building where Paul McCartney and George Harrison went to school) speaking to performing arts students about all things health-related. Needless to say, the standard of punter was particularly fabulous! This is Katona (“Like Kerry Katona but without the Kerry!”).
