Part of a Paradise tree.
The weather this Sunday in Rishton is cold, dry and sunny with an indoor temperature of 19c. I went to take a look at the Paradise tree near the station car park, and was glad all the leaves are still various shades of green and the turning had not yet started.
In the Christian Calendar, we celebrate the birthday of Mother Mary today.
I was blessed to realise suddenly today, how very differently this key birthday of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, son of God, is at least in England, not like Christmas. It is so obvious to me now. I am not suggesting we start jazzing it up or commercialising the birthday, yet, with prayer and Divine inspiration maybe we could find a better way to honour Mother Mary. I can not quote chapter and verse on this, but I recently heard it said that Mother Mary's last words in the New Testament were said at the Wedding at Cana, where Our Lord's Mother says of Jesus, "Do whatever He tells you." Holy guidance for all who followed.
From the Bible:
"Every day I will bless you."
Psalm 145 : 2.
