Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Archie has a trying day...

There's definitely a chill in the air these days... my hat has been in service a couple of times of late. Still, as long as it's dry, I don’t mind.

Jordan was due to come for Archie, but had to pull out at the last moment. Unfortunately, I didn’t see his text message until after I’d told Archie he was coming. When Archie is up at the window, all excited, there’s no way you can explain to him that it was a mistake, plans have changed. He stood there, for half an hour, turning round to look at me, accusingly, every two minutes, with little exasperated sighs and harrumphs when the wrong people passed the gate. JR is usually back from her gym sessions at 10am, but not this morning - she was chatting to folk for too long. So she took him out to the Links.

She then had a flurry of activity and cleaned the fridge and the oven. When the fridge door is open too long, it beeps. And so it kept beeping. Archie does NOT like this unusual sound. In fact Archie HATES this sound - if he can’t have a lap and a cuddle, he'll go and cower by the door and won’t even move when I rattle his biscuit barrel. Funny boy!

Yesterday I listed all my (redundant) photographic gear - lenses, Olympus camera, tripods etc - a whole table full of stuff. I'm happy with my iPhone these days. Sold it all to a nice man this afternoon. The tidy up and sort out keeps going.

Fire on for a wee while. He really does need a haircut. Clippers should come back tomorrow, Archie.
