Diary of an Edinburgher

Old Town Wander

Well, yesterday's shopping did not prove to be successful after all. I re-set the lock on one suitcase, but the other one refused to lock, and the mechanism broke and stuck out at right angles. Not good. What if it did this while we were travelling? We lost all confidence in them, and I took them back this morning. No problems returning them. Do I really need four wheels?

It was such a beautiful morning, so after I got rid of the cases, I was tempted to walk through the Gardens, gaze at the fountain for a while (Extra), and walk round to the Grassmarket, for I really really fancied an ice cream at Mary's. But... it was SHUT! Holidays. Huh.

However, it was most pleasant wander around the Old Town - the place was full of walking groups being told dastardly tales of hangings etc in the olden days.

We watched a couple of episodes of a Norwegian political thriller last night. We started watching a recording of 'The Bridge', but I’m thoroughly fed up with graphic violence on screen, so deleted them unwatched.

JR hung the washing out, then took Archie a big walk, so he was happy. She did about 10,000 steps which made up for not going to the gym.

The doctor rang me, at my request, to discuss my new pills. The dosage has not made any difference in these past two weeks, so we're upping it for a while. Fingers crossed!
