Pond dipping

Knottboys have now gone home to get ready for school on Wednesday.
On their final morning we all went pond dipping in the rain. Who cares about a bit of rain.
At RSPB Leighton Moss you can hire a pond dipping kit with two nets, a tray, an i.d. Guide and a magnifying glass.

We found backswimmers, sticklebacks, pea mussels, water mites, lesser water boatmen, ramshorn snails, pond snails,fresh water mussels, whirligig beetles and pond skaters.


The great thing is that at their present age the will remember them all.

Its been fun but its peaceful now.
