Funchal

A second day of sight seeing with the hire car which was quite challenging at times. The roads are so steep and twisting that at times it was hard to get beyond 1st gear. Today we visited the Valley of the Nuns; went back to the highest peak (today we had blue, blue skies and a fantastic view); and then back to Funchal to visit the Botanical gardens.
In the evening we walked into Funchal to see the truly impressive display of Christmas lights and the evening market. I took so many pictures that it was hard to decide which one made it for Blipping. This was taken at the harbour, the port of call for all the cruise ships.
