Cable Car

Today we hired a car and did our own tour of the west of the island. We stopped off at Achadas da Cruz and decided to take a cable car ride to the little village at the bottom of the cliff. Yes, we really did plunge ( I exaggerate, it took over 5 minutes) the 451 metres down a sheer cliff face. The cable operator cheerfully assured us that we were too young (nice man!) to die, and on this occasion he was right.
