Santana

Today we joined a coach tour of the east of the island, and it was great - we had the place to ourselves! We visited the highest peak at 1818 metres (today we were above the clouds); the western most point of the island and various towns and villages in between. One of the striking things about the villages was that they all had their nativity scenes which the people started to build at the beginning of December, gradually adding to it until it is finally completed just before Christmas. This is a detail of the life sized nativity scene in Santana.
Oh, and we had a very nice lunch, in a cave, and no the men didn't have to go hunting!
Happy Christmas.
