Cocktails at Noon
It was lovely to end the Christmas festivities with a gathering of the usual suspects for cocktails at noon, in the home of neighbour.
A glass with a brown sugar cube at the foot and an inch or two of brandy on top and then filled with champagne hit the spot after a few refills, and then to follow, some more champagne to loosen the tongue.
The subjects of discussion were many and varied but there was a bit of friendly dissension when independence became a topic, the final result 4-3 in favour of the status quo, but even the Nationalists praising the Queen.
I think many of us had been watching the Queen Victoria documentaries this week and had been horrified by her behaviour towards her children.

The surplus bottles of mulled wine are stowed away safely for use another day or year -Welcome January.
