Bosch washing machine from John Lewis - finally

On 30th July we ordered a new Bosch washing machine from John Lewis. After much to-ing and fro-ing between the house and the shop up the road, emails, tweets and several service washes at the nearest laundrette, the machine was finally installed today. Here it is, ready to perform.

Otherwise on our first free day at home for ages - and the last of my holiday - we have been busy working our way through a backlog of various domestic duties. I could have blipped the photograph that Mr hazelh took for my passport application, but I don't wish to frighten anyone. We're pleased that a (small) dent has been made in the backlog. We will return to it at the weekend.

As well as the men who came to install the washing machine first thing this morning, we also welcomed a wine delivery (hic), and our friend Nick called in for tea and cake between business meetings in Edinburgh.
