Reunited brother and sister

My sister-in-law Sam and brother-in-law Alan should have been on holiday in Champagne this week. They were obliged to cancel their trip when the requirement to go into quarantine after any trip to France was recently announced. Their holiday consolation prize is a long weekend in Edinburgh.

This morning Mr hazelh and I prepared for the arrival of our visitors i.e. did housework, went shopping (three trips by Mr hazelh with the our wee shopping trolley were required!) and cooked.

Our guests arrived mid-afternoon. We had hoped to go for a longish walk after tea and scones, but the rain put paid to that. Instead we made a short walk into Stockbridge and back home through the New Town, with a stop-off at Pickles on Broughton Street for pre-dinner drinks.

Back home again we ate, drank, and made music. I have blipped star singer Sam with her guitarist brother Mr hazelh.

Exercise today: walking (12,874 steps).
