what better to do on a grey damp raining day at the lake district!?.......... hire a boat of course and take to windermere!! 

to be honest my husband wanted to do this from first day we arrived and if we had waited for a nice day we may not have got one ...so we did it anyway. 

in an hour we managed to see most of lake windermere and the white cross that white cross bay got its name from. and got rather wet, but we all got to drive the boat and see the views of sorts. 

and of course after a cold wet boat trip we needed a hot chocolate and lunch! 

after boating, me and the girl did a highrope tree top activity and the boys did archery (a hobby that the teenager now wants to take up) . had a lovely family day now for a drink and feet up.
