Turkish Delight

Well that was quite a day! MerrilHopeTours Inc showed Graham my version of this extraordinary city that has been my home for 20 years. Taxi, tram, metro and 15,000+ steps to see several of the significant Istanbul sights and scenes in a great, rather too warm for sightseeing, day of super sunshine at 30ºCish.  Sultan Ahmed, Covered Bazaar, Aya Sofia (main picture) Blue Mosque, a pint in the Irish Corner pub, leisurely stroll up Istiklal Caddesi, St Antoine church, the Baklava and Turkish Delight shop, (extra) and cocktails in the roof bar of the Marmara hotel with amazing Istanbul views (extras), before heading back to Ulus for dinner at Midpoint in Akmerkez, and a nightcap beer at Bizim Tepe while watching a splendid and large wedding party dance their hearts out.
