Safer mode of transport

With the road death toll still rising this holiday period - it now stands at an alarming 1200, maybe this slower way of travelling is the answer!
There are a number of these donkey carts around our suburbs and the owners make a living by collecting refuse from people's gardens and taking it to the dump. Their former unroadworthy carts were replaced with these sponsored ones and the donkeys are regularly checked by "the donkey lady", a voluntary worker who works tirelessly with these and stray donkeys and educates the people about the correct way to care for their animals.
If at any time she sees these donkeys being abused or neglected, they are taken to the Animal Welfare Society where they are looked after and rested before being returned to the owners.
