Outer Hebrides
We had to have an early start today on our last day, and my picture shows the vista leaving Benbecula as the sun was rising. Had to travel up to North Uist to catch the ferry at Lochmaddy going back to Uig. Another sunny day and it was another lovely ferry journey (I love CalMac).
And then a drive through Skye and heading south and home. We passed Eilean Donan Castle, which I have blipped as one of my extras, and had a stop at Fort William for a snack before on the road again.
We were amazed at how busy Scotland was. I had heard people talk about Edinburgh, but Glencoe was busier than I have ever seen, so busy that our coach couldn't stop, there was no parking space for us.
We arrived home in good time, tired, as it was a full on tour, but most enjoyable. We visited 10 islands in all......
Our coach driver, Stewart, was great, and by coincidence we knew him as he has driven our walking group coach in the past.
The hotel was excellent, our room was a little on the small side but we coped for the short time. The food was excellent, in particular the breakfasts. It was all a great experience and hopefully we can return some day in the future.
Nice to be home, though!
