An outing
Luke's friends were good company last night, we all ate a BBQ supper together and then they moved off to another room and played poker - until about 4am! This morning I made them breakfast and while they tidied up Gavin and I walked up the road to get his dry cleaning and then had a coffee at the cafe next door.
At least today was mainly sunny with no rain. Xena is now fully toilet trained and takes herself out into the garden which is a relief - it is great that it is summer as it is easy to toilet train in the warmer months. When we got Murdoch it was the middle of winter, what were we thinking! She also slept right through the night again last night, which is so good.
We decided to go up the road again to the local pub and have a light lunch in their garden, and so Xena came with us. As she cannot be placed on the ground where other dogs have been until her inoculations take effect (three more days, thank goodness) we have to carry her there and then once at the pub we placed her blanket on one of the chairs and she settled in very comfortably. While we were at the pub I popped next door and bought some meat from the butcher who again gave me a lovely bone for her, and that kept her busy the whole time we were eating our meal. Thankfully this will be the last time we have to carry her anywhere as we will start walks this week.
Adam is currently in Cuba, and the last message I got from him he said he was not enjoying it at all. I know they are finding it difficult to find wifi, their accommodation was awful with a room that had a door that could not lock, no one speaks English which was tricky (although his friend speaks Spanish), last I heard he wanted to get out of Havana and head down to Trinidad. A big difference from the wonderful youth hostel accommodation they had in Costa Rica and Panama.
