Mist over the Allanwater Glen
I had a phone call from Wales telling me all about Boris Johnson’s visit to Brecon last week. (That’s the area of Wales I come from).
Boris had to be bundled out because the police say they could not guarantee his safety if he went walkabouts in Brecon! – that sleepy market mid Wales town as the media are fond of calling it.
He tried to go walkabouts in the local agricultural show- one of the social highlights in this rural farming community- only to be told that it would not be acceptable because the show is “non political”.
The Lib Dems, along with Plaid Cymru and the Green Party, had it all stitched up and the only media coverage of Boris in Wales was of him cuddling a chicken on a chicken farm in Monmouthshire, which as we all know, is not Welsh, nor English.
And so it came to pass that Lib Dems returned their candidate to Parliament thus reducing Boris’ majority to one.
