Building Sn3 and N Worlds

Conoco Factory painting complete - al most

Today I painted the second color - green for the roofing corrugated panels.  Everything was primed with the white color before our trip.  That is why this blip does not follow quickly after the last one.  Some of the panels are left the white color, and the roofing panels are the green color.  Plus the building windows and trim are the same green color.  There are also some concrete paint done today for supports, some grey floors, and a  little weathering on the green panels.

Because the parts come on carrier sheets, but are organized by material not final color, I take out many parts to paint - like the building pieces with the grey bottom border, but are primed white on the inside of the part.  This prevents overspray when a piece has two colors.  But you can easily lose a part.

The extra shows the last step - once stuff is dry.  I put the pieces back in the carriers and use painters tape to hold them there.  This kit has a lot of pieces, but the directions are excellent. They call for specific parts from specific carriers for numbered steps.  With the carriers marked by the maker, and with the kits excellent diagrams of all the sheets, it is easy to find the part you want if it is in the original carrier.  Plus, I store them with a piece of wax paper between sheets so the paint is not damaged.

Now for the FUN part - building the Conoco Plant.

PS Have to say that using my airbrush with Vallejo Model Air paint makes painting quick and easy.
