It’s not easy treating fence panels

We’ve been busy on the new fence today. Spraying a fence is not that easy, not this particular type of fence panel anyway. Too many nooks and crannies that have to be attended to with a brush.

This was after having to go and buy a new sprayer as the one I had, admittedly over 10 years old, suffered from constipation and refused to spray. The new one took a bit of mastering as it first applied paint in a thick layer that looked like melted chocolate.

The annoying thing was that the packaging and instructional video suggest that a panel could be done in 6 minutes (I think that’s each side) wearing nothing more than a happy smile. We, on the other hand took over an hour per panel, even using the sprayer and ended up with more paint on our clothes than on the panel.

We’ve painted three new panels and slotted then into the concrete posts and two other panels, a gate and a gate frame. Only another 6 to go
