Keeping Cool - at the pond

Walked early this morning but as a nod to Wilsden Walker who is now on her summer break we actually started out 15 minutes later at 7.30 am.
The sun was already well up but it was probably still the coolest part of the day.
Another break with the norm we did the walk back to front so we passed Coppice Pond first instead of last. The birds were all asleep so we didn't disturb them.
In the bay near the feeding station all the ducks were out on the water and, equally unusual, the swans and signets were sleeping on the water too ( they are the white blobs in the middle of this shot!) I thought this was quite unusually but maybe this is there way to keep cool. The Canada Geese were bucking the trend sleeping one legged here in the shade at the bottom of the pond.
The other bird seen on this walk was the Little Owl in it’s usual wall top place. Not very clear so it’s an extra.

Been to the hairdressers and soon going out for a late lunch in Ilkley followed by the cinema which will thankfully be air conditioned. Well soon be complaining about the cold again!
