The waiting game

A wet morning and I had already thought to do a wet flower blip  but it seemed suddenly to be much brighter so after a quick lunch we set off do short canal walk in Bingley.

The canal is the Leeds - Liverpool and Bingley is home to the three rise and five rise locks. It was quite busy and there is always plenty to see. It is quite some time since we’ve walked anywhere on the canal side.
What we didn’t expect to see was this canal side Heron. Just a little further on from the busy hub of the five rise locks it was stock still at far side of the canal. We had to watch for a while to see him move and make sure he was real!
I got this shot as we returned when he was looking more in my direction but he still hadn’t moved!

Back at the five rise we decided to have tea at the cafe sitting outside. Chris put his mask on to go in to order. It was requested inside that people do so but he was the only one I saw doing it. I think there is some confusion in this area.

Boats we’re going up and down the locks, good to see so much activity though they have tape up restricting you from getting near to watch. Not sure why.
