Spacebird

The starlings have returned to the garden in a small flock of five to feast on the fat blocks. It's lovely to hear their Clanger-like whistles. The long-tailed tits, great tits, blue tits, robin, blackbird, sparrows and pigeons all joined in the feast, too.

Our New Year's Eve was spent indoors, keeping the pets company. I'd bought the Lord of the Rings box set for a bargain in HMV and we watched the first film. When we heard the Big Ben bongs at midnight from the neighbours TV upstairs, we knew it was New Year. We enjoyed listening to the neighbours sing along to Kate Bush's "Babushka" and Dire Strait's "Romeo and Juliet" shortly after.
