Hilde o Nort Banks
A poor day! It was torrential rain all morning, finally clearing by lunchtime. Dry this afternoon, but mist came down, lifting again tonight. Calm now in the evening.
Up early, but with the horrible day, it's been a relaxing morning doing nothing. It dried up after lunch, and I headed out with Sammy. Stopped off to speak with Martin Peterson, and he was telling about his sister renovating the Whrilie. Walked along the road, and headed to the pier, before backing up and headed back for the house. Great to see Papa Stour having new life, a few houses being renovated. Mam and dad arrived off the ferry this evening, and staying for the night too. No weather to get outside, so a night by the fire.
When I got to the pier, I spied Hilde Bardell out in the yard, so headed up. I've known Hilde all my life, she moved to Cunningsburgh in the late 1970s, and I went to school with her son, Thomas, and his older sisters. Hilde and Pete bought this house 3 years ago, and having been renovating, mostly as a summer style home, for friends and family. Last time in was inside, it was in a poor way, great to see it loved again. Taken at North Banks, Papa Stour.
